HBO has announced the return of Issa Rae and Larry Wilmore's hit romantic comedy series Insecure for Season 5.

Rae and HBO broke the news on Friday (May 1), celebrating the series's return with an official statement. Additionally, showrunners have announced the return of the show's key players, Yvonne Orji, Natasha Rothwell, Amanda Seales and Jay Ellis, as well as Rae.

"We're thrilled that Issa, Prentice, and the whole Insecure team will be getting back together for a fifth season," Amy Gravitt, executive vice-president of HBO Programming, wrote. "As we laugh and cringe with recognition, their stories make us all feel a little less alone in the world."

The series is currently in the middle of airing its fourth season on HBO. So far, no release date for the fifth season has been announced.
