Ian McShane to Obsessive 'Game of Thrones' Fans: "Have You Thought About Your Lifestyle?"

When he's not playing a foul-mouthed badass in DeadwoodHot Rod or the John Wick franchise, Ian McShane is a foul-mouthed badass in real life. For the second year running, the veteran actor has managed to piss off an entire subset of obsessive Game of Thrones fans.

Our story begins last year when McShane was promoting his Game of Thrones cameo as Brother Ray. Leading up to Season 6 of the show, he spoiled the secret that Rory McCann's character the Hound was set to come back to life.

GoT fans were extremely pissed, but McShane had some choice words for them. Speaking with The Telegraph back then, he said, "You say the slightest thing and the internet goes ape. I was accused of giving the plot away, but I just think get a fucking life. It's only tits and dragons."

They say time heals all wounds, but McShane is apparently still pissed at the fanatics who called him out. Speaking with Empire [via Entertainment Weekly], McShane gave those nerds another verbal wedgie.

"Can you believe it? 'Oh, you're giving it away,'" McShane said. "Firstly, you love it and secondly, you'll have forgotten by the time it comes out. And what am I giving away? A character beloved by everybody returns. Get a fucking life. The show is huge but some fans seem to identify with it [too closely]. You want to say, 'Have you thought about your lifestyle? Maybe you should get out a little more.'"

Here's hoping McShane books a role in Game of Thrones' forthcoming seventh or perhaps final season. After all — spoiler — it wouldn't be the first time someone on the show has come back from the dead.
