Here's Your First Look at Rian Johnson on the Set of 'Star Wars: Episode VIII'

It was bad news for Star Wars fans when the forthcoming Episode VIII was pushed back by a few months, but that was the only delay. The film has officially begun production, as a new video has confirmed.

Disney recently shared a video confirming that the film has officially begun production.

It opens with the epic shots of Luke Skywalker that closed The Force Awakens. Then director and writer Rian Johnson (Looper) yells "Cut!" with a massive grin.

UPDATE (02/15, 3:45 p.m.): Disney also announced today that Benicio Del Toro and Twin Peaks star Laura Dern have joined the cast of Star Wars: Episode VIII.
Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher are also set to return, along with cast members Adam Driver, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong'o, Domhnall Gleeson, Anthony Daniels, Gwendoline Christie, and Andy Serkis.
