Netflix's live-action version of the beloved Japanese anime Cowboy Bebop has found its starring cast.

Leading the way is John Cho, who will be joined by Mustafa Shakir (Luke Cage), Daniella Pineda (Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom) and Alex Hassell.

Following a recent role in Searching, Cho will play the lead role of Spike Spiegel, while Pineda will take on the role of Faye Valentine, Shakir will portray Jet Black and Hassell will be Vicious.

Alex Garcia Lopez will direct the first two instalments of the 10-episode series, with Christopher Yost writing the first episode. Original Cowboy Bebop director Shinichiro Watanabe will serve as a consultant on the Netflix series.

For the unfamiliar, Netflix describes the Cowboy Bebop as "the jazz-inspired, genre-bending story of a ragtag crew of bounty hunters on the run from their pasts as they hunt down the solar system's most dangerous criminals."

Cowboy Bebop first aired in Japan in 1998, going on to become one of the country's most beloved and successful anime series.

At this point, it's unclear when the live-action version will hit Netflix.
