Canadian director Denis Villeneuve will soon bring Dune back to the big screen, and today we finally get our long-awaited first taste of the highly anticipated film.

Vanity Fair has exclusively shared the first image from the film, and it's a super-wide screenshot that showcases Timothée Chalamet as Paul Atreides. You'll find the full-sized screenshot below.

UPDATE (4/14, 12 p.m. ET): You can now see a ton more images from Dune, featuring the debut of Oscar Isaac (Duke Leto), Zendaya (Chani), Josh Brolin (Gurney Halleck) Javier Bardem (Stilgar), Jason Momoa (Duncan Idaho), Sharon Duncan-Brewster (Dr. Liet Kynes) and Rebecca Ferguson (Jessica Atreides). See all the new images below.

"The immediately appealing thing about Paul was the fact that in a story of such detail and scale and world-building, the protagonist is on an anti-hero's-journey of sorts," Chalamet told Vanity Fair. "He thinks he's going to be sort of a young general studying his father and his leadership of a fighting force before he comes of age, hopefully a decade later, or something like that."

Further, the official Dune Twitter account has updated with the film's logo, which is also embedded below. As of right now, Dune has not yet been delayed. It's set to open on December 18.
