Between its knocking drums, ominous piano line and moving strings, the theme song of HBO's Succession has all the hallmarks of a hip-hop smash. Now, the tune is set to receive an official remix courtesy of Pusha T.

The G.O.O.D. Music prez will deliver a rework of the Nicholas Britell-composed theme titled "Puppets (Successsion Remix)" this Friday (October 11). The song arrives ahead of the show's second season finale, and you can hear a brief snippet for Pusha's work below.

UPDATE (10/11, 11:15 a.m. EDT): You can now hear Pusha T's full "Puppets" remix down below.

Vulture reports that Britell pitched Pusha on a remix after the pair met each other at a studio session with Pharrell in Los Angeles. "There was only one person on the list of people to reach out to. Of course it had to be Pusha. There was no backup, there was no plan B," Britell told the site.

"The greed, the resentment, the idea anybody is basically disposable — that's a gangsta movie type of quality. On Succession, it's involving family, it's like, Whoa! It's a bit more shocking," Pusha said of the show. "And so that's what made the writing process fun, because I could use all of the street, gangster rap nuances and qualities and energy and incorporate it into the theme of the music. It was really just a dope exercise, honestly."

Successsion was renewed for a third season this past August. That same month saw Pusha T deliver new singles "Sociopath" and "Coming Home."
