HBO Is Working on a Film About the Making of 'The Godfather'
Widely recognized as one of the most important films of all time, it's a little surprising that Francis Ford Coppola's The Godfather hasn't been revisited all that often in pop culture. That will soon change, as HBO is working on a behind-the-scenes film about the making of the 1972 classic.

The forthcoming film is called Francis & the Godfather, and it follows the story of the classic movie's creation. That includes everything from Coppola adapting Mario Puzo's novel to casting Al Pacino and Marlon Brando to dealing with the real-life New York mafia.

The script for Francis & the Godfather first appeared on the Black List — a collection of the best unproduced scripts — in 2015. Andrew Farotte, who wrote the original script, is revising his work for HBO.

Stay tuned for more information on Francis & the Godfather as it becomes available.
