The consequences for Harvey Weinstein's alleged actions continue to pile up, as the notorious film producer has been slapped with additional sex crime charges that could land him life in prison.

Weinstein was arrested and charged with rape and sex crime charges last month, to which he pleaded not guilty. As Deadline reports, the Manhattan district attorney has now indicted him for more sex crime charges that could bring his sentencing up to life in prison if he's found guilty.

The new indictment includes an additional count of Criminal Sexual Act in the First Degree for a forcible sex act against a third woman who has come forward. The new indictment also includes two counts of Predatory Sexual Assault. The charges could result in life in prison, or at least 10 to 25 years.

Here's a statement about the indictment from District Attorney Cyrus Vance Jr:

A Manhattan Grand Jury has now indicted Harvey Weinstein on some of the most serious sexual offenses that exist under New York's Penal Law," District Attorney Cyrus Vance Jr. said. "This indictment is the result of the extraordinary courage exhibited by the survivors who have come forward. Our investigation continues. If you are a survivor of the predatory abuse with which Mr. Weinstein is charged, there is still time to pursue justice. Please call us at 212-335-9373.

Weinstein is currently out on $1 million USD bail. His next court appearance is scheduled for September. Meanwhile, simultaneous sexual assault investigations of the producer are also taking place in the United Kingdom.
