Following Crimson Peak, it sounds like director Guillermo Del Toro has another remarkable and otherworldly project in the works. The beloved filmmaker is currently working on a romantic merman movie.

The film is called The Shape of Water, and its a Cold War love story set in 1963. A woman falls in love with a merman when she meets him at the facility where he's being held captive. She then devises a plan to free him.

Unfortunately, Derek Zoolander won't be starring as Water's merman. Instead, The Tracking Board reports that Richard Jenkins is in talks to take on the film's starring role.

Other actors circling in on the project include Octavia Spencer and Micheal Stuhlbarg, who will join the previously cast Sally Hawkins.

The Shape of Water is being produced for Fox Searchlight.
