Earlier this month, director James Gunn was fired from the third instalment of Guardians of the Galaxy after a series of offensive tweets were uncovered by right-wing web sleuths. Since Gunn has apologized for the tweets multiple times, many believe he should be reinstated. Now, the stars of the franchise have banded together in an open letter.

Having previously spoken out in support of the director via Twitter, the film's stars have now signed an open letter expressing their hopes for Gunn to be reinstated in the franchise.

The letter has been signed by Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Bradley Cooper, Vin Diesel, Sean Gunn, Dave Bautista, Pom Klementieff, Karen Gillan and Michael Rooker.

Sharing it on his Instagram, Chris Pratt wrote, "Although I don't support James Gunn's inappropriate jokes from years ago, he is a good man. I'd personally love to see him reinstated as director of Volume 3. If you please, read the following statement — signed by our entire cast."
