Published Oct 31, 2017There was plenty of controversy heading into the present season of the Great British Bake Off as the wildly popular cooking show switched from the BBC to Channel 4 and took on some new judges and hosts. Mostly, however, Season 8 of the program went off without a hitch. Well, at least until its finale.
New judge Prue Leith has proven to be a welcome addition to Bake Off, but she screwed up royally when she tweeted out the show's winner well before the finale aired.
As the Associated Press reports, Leith was travelling through Bhutan, where the timezone is some six hours ahead of the UK.
Recognizing her error, Leith deleted the winner and revealed an apology:
I am so sorry to the fans of the show for my mistake this morning, I am in a different time zone and mortified by my error #GBBO.— Prue Leith (@PrueLeith) October 31, 2017
