Good Kill

There's no time like the present to talk about America's love of drone attacks in warfare. Just yesterday, President Barack Obama apologized after admitting that the U.S. accidentally killed an American aid worker and another Al Qaeda hostage in a drone strike earlier this year. It's a dubious war tactic that's deeply explored in Andrew Niccol's new film Good Kill.

Today, The Playlist has premiered a clip from the film, and it suggests an interesting character study. Ethan Hawke stars as Tom Egan, an all-American drone operator based in Las Vegas. In this scene, we see him picking up some booze and snacks after a long day of killing Taliban from home.

The film, which co-stars January Jones, Zoë Kravitz and Bruce Greenwood, will receive a limited release next month after it premieres at Tribeca this week.
