Fox just ordered a new animated comedy series about neighbourhood dogs that "will explore human dysfunction and neurosis" in a suburban setting.

The series — titled Housebroken — was written by show runner Clea Duvall, and co-executive producers Jennifer Crittenden and Gabrielle Allan. Catastrophe actor Sharon Horgan will also produce.

Alongside Duvall, the show will feature the voice acting of some massive stars, including Lisa Kudrow, Will Forte, Tony Hale, Jason Mantzoukas, Sam Richardson, Bresha Webb and Greta Lee, as well as Horgan herself.

As Deadline reports, the idea for the show came on the set of HBO's Veep, where DuVall, Crittenden and Allan met and later discovered that they were all pet owners.

The project is a co-production between Fox Entertainment, Kapital and Bento Box, the animation studio behind Bob's Burgers.

So far, the Housebroken has no premiere date or trailer. Stay tuned for more details as they unfold.
