Jon Favreau's upcoming live-action Lion King remake has already confirmed a cast of major stars that includes Beyoncé — and it turns out she's working on new music with Elton John.
John wrote and performed the soundtrack for the 1994 animated Disney film, and while some songs from the original are slated to reappear, there could also be a brand new collaborative closing number with Queen Bey.
John is also once again working with collaborator Tim Rice, who wrote lyrics for many of the 1994 soundtrack tunes. The original score was composed by Hans Zimmer.
"There will be an end, closing song, and we've been speaking to Beyonce's people," John told the Sun. "Hopefully Tim and I and her can cook up something… It will be great to work with her."
He also confirmed that old favourites "Can You Feel the Love Tonight?," "Hakuna Matata," "I Just Can't Wait to Be King" and "Circle of Life" will all appear in Favreau's upcoming remake.
The film is slated to hit theatres in 2019.
