Ellen Page Calls Out Chris Pratt for Promoting Anti-LGBTQ Church on 'Colbert'

BY Sarah MurphyPublished Feb 8, 2019

Last week, Ellen Page delivered an emotional message to both her younger self and hateful political leaders currently in power during her appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. Now, she's calling out the very same show for giving a platform to Chris Pratt and his "infamously anti-LGBTQ" church.

Pratt appeared on Colbert last night (February 7), and told the host and audience about his recent Bible-inspired diet. He mentioned that the 21-day fast was inspired by a pastor at his church.

Pratt defines his spirituality as non-denominational Christianity, but the actor is a member of the Hillsong Church.

Page took issue with Pratt's appearance on Colbert, tweeting a link to an article about the segment with the caption, "Oh. K. Um. But his church is infamously anti lgbtq so maybe address that too?"

In 2015, Hillsong released a statement saying that, "We do not affirm a gay lifestyle" and maintained that marriage is to be a union between a man and a woman.

Pratt has yet to respond to Page's comment.
