Elizabeth Banks in Talks to Direct 'Charlie's Angels' Reboot

The Charlie's Angels franchise appeared to still have some life in it when it was rebooted with Drew Barrymore, Cameron Diaz and Lucy Liu in the early 2000s. Then the series returned to television in 2011 but was abruptly cancelled. Now, it's returning to the big screen.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the story of Charlie's Angels is being eyed for another movie reboot. Sony is currently in negotiations with Elizabeth Banks to direct the movie.

In addition to directing, Banks would produce alongside her producing partner Max Handelman. It's unclear who'd write or star in the film at this point, though we can all but guarantee no Tom Green cameos.

The initial 1970s version of Charlie's Angels starred Farrah Fawcett, Kate Jackson and Jaclyn Smith.
