Duncan Jones Pretended We Were Getting an Animated David Bowie Series for April Fool's Day

Okay but please make the show now

While the world tries to get through the coronavirus pandemic in addition to all of its other problems and catastrophes, the unspoken agreement has seemed to be that April Fool's Day was cancelled this year. Duncan Jones apparently didn't get the memo, however, and he tricked a great deal of people into thinking they were getting an animated series about his late father David Bowie.

Jones, who is a celebrated filmmaker in his own right, posted on Twitter that Aardman Animation — the studio responsible for Wallace & Gromit and Shaun the Sheep — would be working on a new animated series about David Bowie.

The tweet included an image of Wallace dressed up as the late art pop icon, leaving many excited at this unlikely but all too perfect collaboration.

Of course, if you're the kind of person who actually clicks links, you'll notice that the YouTube URL sends you to an all-too familiar punchline....
