After announcing earlier this year that the third season of Donald Glover's Atlanta would be delayed, FX has renewed the show for a fourth season.

The network made the announcement today at the Television Critics Association summer press tour. Production on both the third and fourth seasons of the show, — which will feature eight episodes each — will begin in the spring of 2020.

"What more can be said about 'Atlanta' than the critical acclaim and accolades that Donald, Paul, Dianne, Stephen and Hiro have earned for two exceptional seasons of what is clearly one of the best shows on television," FX Entertainment president Eric Schrier said. "This group of collaborators and cast have created one of the most original, innovative stories of this generation and we are proud to be their partners."

In February of this year, FX chalked up the delay of the show's third season to Glover's "incredibly complicated life."

Atlanta's first season premiered in September 2016, while the show's second season arrived in March of last year.
