Disney Is Rebooting 'The Rocketeer'

In 1991, Walt Disney paid tribute to the serials of the '30s and '40s with its throwback flick The Rocketeer. Now, 25 years later, news has broke that the film is getting a reboot/sequel.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the new film is called The Rocketeers. While it's unclear exactly which era the film will be set in, it will at least update its casting. While the first film featured Billy Campbell, this flick is set to star a to-be-determined black female.

The film is being produced by Brigham Taylor (The Jungle Book) alongside, strangely, the L.A. Clippers' Blake Griffin and the Carolina Panthers' Ryan Kalil.

Stay tuned for more information on The Rocketeers as it becomes available.
