Disney+ Hires 'John Wick' Executive Producer for 'Star Wars' Obi-Wan Kenobi Series

BY Josiah HughesPublished Apr 2, 2020

We recently learned that Ewan McGregor was planning to revive his role as Obi-Wan Kenobi for a forthcoming Disney+ series. Now, we've got word that the show will get a major injection of action by hiring someone from John Wick 3

Joby Harold executive produced the most recent Keanu Reeves shoot-em-up, and he'll serve as the main writer on the forthcoming new series. It's not Harold's only connection to the original Star Wars prequels — he also wrote and directed the 2007 film Awake, which starred Hayden Christensen (a.k.a. Anakin Skywalker).

Harold's hiring follows the departure of Hossein Amini, who left the series in January. In addition to writing the Obi-Wan show, Harold is also hard at work on a new Transformers iteration for Paramount and the screenplay for Zack Snyder's Army of the Dead

Thanks to Variety for the tip.
