Polish director Marcin Wrona recently impressed critics at the Toronto International Film Festival with the world premiere of his creative horror feature Demon. He's since been found dead in a Poland hotel. He was 42.
As Variety reports, Wrona's dead body was discovered in a Polish hotel room on Friday night (September 18). Police are now investigating the death.
Wrona was planning to offer up the Polish premiere of Demon at the Gdynia Film Festival. "As the organizers of the festival and at the same time friends of Marcin, we are deeply shocked and saddened by this information," a statement from the festival read. "We would like to express our sincere condolences to the wife of the director and all the people who were close to him."
Wrona was recently married to Olga Szymanska, who served as a producer on Demon.
