While Star Trek: Discovery has yet to secure the unanimous approval of Trekkies, it appears the series is about to tap into a whole new fanbase in an upcoming episode with the appearance of a very special guest star, Canadian filmmaker David Cronenberg.
For reasons unknown, the director has apparently scooped up a role in next week's episode, as confirmed by a new teaser video when he's seen behind a holographic computer screen donning his signature black-rimmed glasses.
It's so far unclear what role he'll play, but if the Discovery team has at least one thing going for them, it's the show's excellent casting. Cronenberg will appear alongside Sonequa Martin-Green, the wonderful Doug Jones, Anthony Rapp, Wilson Cruz the rest of the crew in Season 3 Episode 5, "Die Trying," on November 12.
