Dave Grohl Has Been Directing a Feature Film

Earlier today (August 23), Foo Fighters released a new video for their Concrete and Gold song "The Sky Is a Neighborhood," but it turns out that band leader Dave Grohl has much bigger cinematic ambitions. As the Foo Fighter revealed in a new interview, he has recently been working on a full-length feature film.

Speaking to Rolling Stone, Grohl explained that he had been working on his own film last year but was forced to postpone the project due to his Foo Fighters commitments.

"Last year, I was approached to make a feature film and I was a little hesitant at first, and then I got into it," Grohl said. "I started working on production and getting into casting with these big names. And at first, I wasn't sure if I would be able to do it. And once my heart clicked, I just dive head first into whatever it is. And I really got into the script and visualizing this story, but I didn't have time to do it."

And while Grohl didn't give a ton of details about what the film might entail, he did say he wanted to return to working on the project.

"Someday, I'm going to wind up doing it," he said. "But the Foo Fighters always get in the way. I can see myself doing more and more of it as the years come.

"That film's still in rewrites and once we get the rewrite happening, I'm sure that the casting will kick in and pull our team together. But I like my day job. I really enjoy my day job."

Check out the video for "The Sky Is a Neighborhood," which was directed by Grohl, below. Concrete and Gold is due out September 15 via Roswell Records/RCA.
