Dave Bautista Says He'll Quit 'Guardians of the Galaxy 3' If Disney Doesn't Use James Gunn's Script
Last month, director James Gunn was fired from the third instalment of Guardians of the Galaxy after a series of offensive tweets were uncovered by right-wing web sleuths. Gunn has apologized for the unfunny jokes numerous times over the years, and the franchise's stars agree that he should be reinstated on the film. Now Dave Bautista is taking things a step further.

Bautista, who plays Drax the Destroyer in the film series, said that he will quit the third instalment if Marvel doesn't use Gunn's script.

Speaking with ShortList, Bautista said, "Where I'm at right now is that if [Marvel] don't use that script, then I'm going to ask them to release me from my contract, cut me out or recast me. I'd be doing James a disservice if I didn't."

He continued, "Nobody's defending his tweets, but this was a smear campaign on a good man. I spoke to Chris Pratt the day after it happened and he's a bit religious so he wanted time to pray and figure it out, but I was more like: fuck this. This is bullshit. James is one of the kindest, most decent people I've met."

Following the interview, Bautista took to Twitter to clarify that he believes Gunn's tweets were exposed by "fascists" and "cybernazis." Read his tweet below.
