Darren Aronofsky to Direct Channing Tatum in Evel Knievel Biopic

Channing Tatum will probably make a billion more 21 Jump Street movies, but that's not all he's got in the pipeline. Instead, the hunky actor is taking on stunt master Evel Knievel in a new biopic.

The long-in-the-works film was set to be helmed by Friday Night Lights master Peter Berg, but he recently backed out of the project. Instead, it'll now be helped by cult favourite Darren Aronofsky.

The film is simply called Evel Knievel. It was written by Reid Carolin (Magic Mike) and was just rewritten by Scott Silver (The Fighter8 Mile).

In other words, there are some huge names involved with the project. Now the question is only whether or not the movie will be as good as the motorcycle stunt classic Hot Rod
