Earlier this year, Marvel revealed that a film centred around Spider-Man anti-hero Venom was in the works. Now, it's been revealed that fellow alien symbiote Carnage will get some screen time in the film as well.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Carnage will appear alongside Tom Hardy's Venom in the film, currently slated to arrive in theatres October 5, 2018 through Sony. As previously reported, Avi Arad and Matt Tolmach are producing Venom, along with Amy Pascal.

In the Spider-Man comics, Carnage is serial killer Cletus Kasady, who merged with the offspring of Venom's alien symbiote upon sharing a jail cell with the latter's host, Eddie Brock.

Carnage possesses strength greater than Spider-Man and Venom combined, in addition to shape-shifting abilities and a chaotic, maniacal personality.
