Global Evisceration

Containing one disc that features three hours of material, Global Evisceration, the latest DVD from Cannibal Corpse, showcases a legendary band that, while they may have gotten older, have the intensity and brutality that still resonates amongst their old and new fans. Global Evisceration features the Florida (by way of Buffalo, NY) death metal masters performing two full live shows, one in Englewood, CO and the other in Albuquerque, NM, which took place during their 2010 tour cycle for latest album Evisceration Plague. Filmed in small venues, the footage captures the band's severe intensity as they perform in these intimate settings to crowds full of vigour, ready to bash the hell out of each other. Also included on the DVD are bonus performances, a fan photo gallery and behind-the-scenes tour footage, including interviews with the band on various subjects such as fan art, band member nicknames and life on the road. Corpse have been around for over 20 years now, so there's no shortage of material, including a few previous DVDs. While Global Evisceration is a fun watch, especially for those more diehard Corpse fans, it's not an essential piece to add to your collection. Those who want to pick up a Corpse DVD are better off investing in Centuries of Torment: The First 20 Years, which features more performances and an in-depth history of the band.
