Today (September 27), the world has watched in horror as Christine Blasey Ford has discussed traumatic events while testifying against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, whom she accused of sexual assault in high school. To show her support for Ford, actor, writer and forthcoming talk show host Busy Philipps opened up about her own sexual trauma.

In an Instagram post, Philipps opened up about being raped at the age of 14. "Today is the day we are silent no more," she added. "All of us. I'm scared to post this. I can't imagine what Dr. Ford is feeling right now."

Though Philipps didn't add much by way of details, she said it has taken her 25 years to open up about what happened. She added that she also wrote about the traumatic event in her book This Will Only Hurt a Little, which comes out on October 16.
