Brooklyn Nine-Nine has officially been through all of the stages of a television sitcom. It was cancelled, then renewed by another network, and now it's getting a reboot. More specifically, it's getting a French-Canadian reboot.

Yes, the show is still on the air but will now be relaunched via the broadcaster Quebecor Content. According to Deadline, the new remake of the show will start production this summer in Quebec City and will be directed by Patrick Huard.

"This first international adaptation of the series Brooklyn Nine-Nine is a perfect fit with our mandate of producing and broadcasting distinctive content, and reaffirms Quebecor Content's leadership in the Quebec TV industry," Quebecor Content vice-president Yann Paquet said in a statement. "We are delighted to pursue our collaboration with a first-rate partner like NBCUniversal International Studios."

The series will be produced by ComediHa!, whose president and founder Sylvain Parent Bédard added, "First off, we are very proud that NBCU have entrusted us to adapt the Brooklyn Nine-Nine format for the very first time.... We've been working on this project for a long time, and we're excited to see it come to fruition — especially with a seasoned pro like Patrick Huard on board. We're also delighted to bring the production to Quebec City, giving yet another boost to its cultural and economic sectors."

Brooklyn Nine-Nine completed its sixth season earlier this month. The show has been renewed for a seventh.
