'Bright' Sequel Confirmed by Netflix

Netflix's Will Smith-starring original film Bright has been confirmed for a sequel.

Despite the fact that John Boyega was just about the only person who liked it and controversy over the film's problematic portrayal of race, the streaming service announced today that a followup film is in the works.

Netflix revealed the news with a silly orc-casting audition tape on Twitter.

The clip closes out with potential names for the upcoming instalment, tossing out options like Bright 2, Brighter, Bad Boys in Mordor, Orcs Gone Wild, The Last Inferni and Wand Wars — but, thankfully, acknowledges that the title still needs more work.

The upcoming sequel will see Smith and co-star Joel Edgerton reprise their roles, and David Ayer will return to write and direct the film. Writer Max Landis will not return for the second instalment, however, while Eric Newman and Bryan Unkeless have signed on as producers.
