After reports earlier this year pointed to Lucasfilm pressing pause on a Boba Fett Star Wars spinoff film, the project has now reportedly been abandoned entirely.
As Gizmodo points out, the news arrives through entertainment reporter Erick Weber, who spoke to Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy at a Black Panther screening event.
Weber tweeted that Kennedy confirmed the Boba Fett movie is "100% dead" at this point in time. He added that Lucasfilm is "100% focusing on The Mandalorian," a forthcoming series written by Jon Favreau that is set to premiere on Disney's yet-to-be-titled streaming service.
Reports of Boba Fett being treated to an origin story on the big screen first appeared in 2015, though Lucasfilm reportedly chose to stop the series of side films in the wake of production issues and less-than-ideal box office performances that dogged Solo and Rogue One.
