'Black Christmas' Is Getting Rebooted (Again)
The 1974 cult classic Canadian horror film Black Christmas was already treated to a horrendous reboot in 2006, but everyone hated that one so much that Hollywood has announced its intentions to try again.

The new Black Christmas will star Imogen Poots alongside Aleyse Shannon, Brittany O'Grady, Lily Donoghue and Caleb Eberhardt. The film will be directed by Sophia Takal and produced by Jason Blum through his Blumhouse Productions banner.

The original Black Christmas received mixed reviews upon its original release but has since grown in reputation to be considered a cult classic in the slasher genre. Its 2006 remake was less well-received — it holds a 22 out of a possible 100 on Metacritic and a 15 percent critical rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

Hopefully this reboot will fare better.

Sophia Takal previously helmed the indie flick Always Shine starring Mackenzie Davis and Caitlin FitzGerald, as well as an episode of the horror anthology series Into the Dark

The new Black Christmas has been scheduled for release on December 13.
