Chicago Cubs superfan and Wes Anderson go-to guy Bill Murray is bringing an unusual show to Toronto this fall. The actor/comedian will headline the Royal Conservatory's 2017-2018 opening gala at Koerner Hall on October 13.

The event is described as an "evening where music and literature meet in a clash of words and notes," and it will see Murray reading works by Ernest Hemingway, Truman Capote and Mark Twain, dancing a tango and singing onstage. The whole to-do will find Murray accompanied by his friend, cellist Jan Vogler, who will lead an ensemble through pieces by Bach, Piazzolla, Ravel and Bernstein.

Among the musical numbers listed in the program are Bach's "Prelude from Cello Suite No. 1 in G Major," Gershwin's "It Ain't Necessarily So" (from Porgy and Bess), Henry Mancini's "Moon River," and Leonard Bernstein's "Somewhere," "I Feel Pretty" and "America" (from West Side Story).

Bookworms, meanwhile, should recognize passages from works like Walt Whitman's Song of the Open Road and Song of Myself, Hemingway's A Movable Feast and Twain's Adventures of Huckleberry Finn.

Tickets to the event start at $99, and go on sale tomorrow (February 10) at 10 a.m. Find full details here.
