'Big Hero 6' Is Becoming an Animated Series
Like many of Disney's animated features, Big Hero 6 was one that made us laugh and cry — sometimes both at once. We'll soon be able to ride that emotional rollercoaster once a week, as the company has announced a Big Hero 6 TV show.

According to Deadline, the show will pick up right where the movie left off, making it a proper televised sequel.

The series is being made for Disney XD, where it's being produced by Kim Possible's Mark McCorkle and Bob Schooley.

Disney Channels Worldwide's chief creative officer Gary Marsh offered the following statement about the show:

Our colleagues at Walt Disney Animation Studios have created a brilliant new world, inspired by Marvel, with vivid, unique characters. We are thrilled to have the opportunity to further develop these characters into a world class animated series — full of fun, action and the kind of endearing storytelling that only Mark, Bob — and Baymax — can deliver.

The Big Hero 6 TV show is set to arrive at some point in 2017.
