Glaswegian indie-pop greats Belle and Sebastian have announced a brand new original soundtrack for the upcoming film Days of the Bagnold Summer.
The film is an adaptation of Joff Winterhart's graphic novel of the same name and was directed by Simon Bird (The Inbetweeners). Days of the Bagnold Summer follows the story of a young heavy metaller whose holiday plans fall through, so he's forced to spend the summer with his mom.
The soundtrack will feature 11 new Belle and Sebastian songs, as well as new versions of "Get Me Away from Here I'm Dying" and "I Know Where the Summer Goes."
"Everything we do that becomes an album is a big deal for us," the band's Stuart Murdoch said in a statement. "We're quietly pleased with how the collaboration went, but the truth is that you don't know what's going to happen when it goes out into the world, and people hear it. The whole thing with music is to make a good moment better. Deeper, more thrilling, more heartfelt."
