Disney's recent photorealistic CGI remakes of The Jungle Book and The Lion King have proven $ucce$$ful at further locking us into the mobius strip of cultural nostalgia, and the next classic to receive the treatment will be none other than Bambi.
As Variety reports, a remake of the 1942 animated film is set to be developed, featuring a screenplay from Geneva Robertson-Dworet (Captain Marvel) and Lindsey Beer (Sierra Burgess Is a Loser), while Chris and Paul Weitz's Depth of Field will handle production.
News of the Bambi remake comes ahead of a live-action Mulan remake arriving in theatres this March, while a 101 Dalmations prequel dubbed Cruella will hit theatres in May 2021.
Disney is also slated to give The Little Mermaid, Pinocchio and Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs the live-action treatment.
