Endlessly likeable wrestler-turned-actor Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson knows his football — not only did he play one in the terrible family movie The Game Plan, but he also had a brief stint in the CFL on the Calgary Stampeders. His knowledge of the pigskin will take a more central role with his new HBO series Ballers.
The show could just as easily be called Entourage But Sports, as it looks quite a bit like a clone of HBO's previous success with a bunch of rich dudes in suits and a lot of bikini babes partying on boats. Along with The Rock, the show stars Rob Corrdry, Omar Benson Miller, John David Washington, Donovan Carter, Jazmyn Simon and Arielle Kebble, among others.
