Cybersecurity company McAfee has released a list of the celebrities most likely to infect your computer with viruses and malware — and it turns out that even in 2017 there are enough people trying to cop free illegal Avril Lavigne music to land her at the top of the pile.
According to the report, searches for Lavigne are the most likely to direct users to online threats, with a 14.5 percent chance of landing on an infected website. That rate goes up to 22 percent when the singer's name is searched along with "free MP3s."
There's no word yet on how much the risk of infection increases when her name is combined with Nickelback's.
Lavigne's most recent studio album arrived as a self-titled offering in 2013, and McAfee notes the singer's hints at a new record, her battle with Lyme disease and impostor conspiracy theories could have contributed to the this year's increased interest.
Rounding out the list of the Top 10 "most dangerous" celebrities are Bruno Mars, Carly Rae Jepsen, Zayn Malik, Celine Dion, Calvin Harris, Justin Bieber, Sean "Diddy" Combs, Katy Perry and Beyoncé.
