Ava DuVernay has been confirmed to direct an upcoming documentary about late rapper Nipsey Hussle.

Following a recent bidding war, the feature-length project will stream on Netflix, according to Deadline.

The publication also reports that Hussle's estate personally reached out to DuVernay to get involved with the documentary based on her previous work.

In addition to helming the Oscar-nominated Selma, DuVernay has also worked on previous Netflix projects like the dramatic series When They See Us and documentary 13th.

Last month, DuVernay appeared at the Grammys to introduce an onstage tribute to the late rapper.

Hussle died after he was shot in front of his Los Angeles clothing store last year. He was 33.
