Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson Reportedly Break Up

After a whirlwind romance that began earlier this year, pop star Ariana Grande and Saturday Night Live cast member Pete Davidson have reportedly broken up and called off their engagement.

The 25-year-old Sweetner singer and 24-year-old comedian announced their engagement back in May, just weeks after reports surfaced that the pair were casually dating. Last month, the pair adopted a pet pig named Piggy Smalls; it went on to star in Grande's "breathin" video.

According to TMZ, the couple ended their relationship over the weekend, mutually agreeing that it "was not the right time for their relationship to take off."

Grande pulled out of a scheduled performance on Saturday night (October 13). She was slated to sing at the Fuck Cancer benefit gala in Los Angeles, where her manager Scooter Braun's wife was receiving an award.

"One of the most amazing things about this organization is that they help people when they're having the worst moments in their life, and they give sympathy and a calm nature to people in need in those moments," Braun said, according to E! "And you saw your invite, someone I'm very close to was supposed to come sing for you today, and because of things that she's going through, she couldn't be here today. And while I was frustrated, being the manager, my wife, being who she always is, just looked at me and she goes, 'She needs this time.'"

Grande has been open about her ongoing struggles with anxiety since the terrorist attack at her show in Manchester last year. Since last month, the singer has also been publicly grieving the death of her ex-boyfriend Mac Miller.

She has since retreated from the spotlight, including turning down an offer to host the season opener of SNL.

Grande vented on Twitter last month explaining that she'd been having a "tough month," then later apologized for worrying fans.

Neither Grande not Davidson has issued statements or made social media posts since news of their supposed breakup emerged.
