Richard Reed Parry's 2019 included the release of his Quiet River of Dust Vol. 2, on top of albums with Leonard Cohen and Rebecca Foon, and the Arcade Fire member will begin 2020 by making his feature film scoring debut at this year's Sundance Film Festival.

Parry has scored Sean Durkin's The Nest, which is set to premiere at the festival January 26. The drama, also written by Durkin, stars Jude Law, Carrie Coon, Charlie Shotwell and Oona Roche.

The Nest follows an ambitious entrepreneur (Law) who persuades his wife and children to leave suburban American and return to his native England in the 1980s, a move that puts the family on course to "a seemingly inevitable breakdown."

An abstract for The Nest reads, "Driven by superb performances and a masterfully crafted aesthetic unease, Sean Durkin's second feature contemplates the corrosive value system of the 1980s and its human toll, as it spreads like a sickness nobody realized was there."

The 2020 Sundance Film Festival runs from January 23 to February 2.
