Despite being diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer this year, Alex Trebek vowed to return to Jeopardy! for its 36th season. And now, the beloved host and the show have confirmed he will be doing just that, sharing the good news via a new teaser video for the upcoming season.

After telling fans his cancer was "near remission," Trebek will indeed be back for Season 36, with the host looking as upbeat as ever in the new clip.

In the teaser, Trebek says, "I've gone through a lot of chemotherapy and thankfully that is now over. I'm on the mend, and that's all I can hope for right now."

He goes on to say, "We've got some exciting things coming up, and I can't wait to share them with all of you. Let me tell you, it's going to be a good year."

Amazingly, Trebek also tells us who he would like to play him in a biopic — Betty White.

Jeopardy! returns to NBC on September 9. Trebek has hosted Jeopardy! since 1984.
