Alex Jones Is Just a "Performance Artist" Playing a "Character," According to New Lawsuit

The Trump-approved conspiracy theorist is currently embroiled in a serious custody battle

If there's one person who yells "jet fuel can't melt steel beams" with the performative outrage of a pro wrestler, it's certainly Trump-approved Infowars media magnate and Billy Corgan BFF Alex Jones. Though he has millions of acolytes, however, Jones is now arguing that his entire schtick is just a made-up bit.

According to the Austin American-Statesmen, Jones is currently involved in a custody battle with his ex-wife Kelly. The pair are trying to determine who will have custody of their three children.

In a testimony, Kelly said that Alex has not created the ideal environment for their three children to grow up. "He's not a stable person," she said. "He says he wants to break Alec Baldwin's neck. He wants J-Lo to get raped."

Further, she mentioned Jones' recent threats to assault Democratic Representative Adam Schiff. "I'm concerned that he is engaged in felonious behavior, threatening a member of Congress," Kelly added. "He broadcasts from home. The children are there, watching him broadcast."

In response to these claims, Alex's lawyer Randall Wilhite explained that the Jones we see on YouTube is a fabrication. Wilhite said that equating the man with his on-air persona would be like equating Jack Nicholson with The Joker from Batman.

To make things even more ridiculous, Wilhite added, "He's playing a character.... He is a performance artist."

Whether or not he's playing a character, one thing is certainly true — the oft-shirtless talk show host is certainly one hell of a performer. Watch some of his best performances below.
