For years, it's felt like movie and television executives have been scrambling for new ideas, and with the rise of a billion new streaming services, this is the case more than ever. Take, for example, the news that a "gritty" YouTube parody of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air is now being turned into an actual show.

Last year, YouTuber Morgan Cooper shot a viral trailer for a gritty, dramatic take on the Fresh Prince story called Bel-Air. Now, the video is being turned into an actual show.

Everyone's on board — Will Smith and Quincy Jones are both executive producing alongside Benny Medina and Morgan Cooper.

The show is currently being shopped to streaming services like Peacock, Netflix and HBO Max, although it doesn't have a home just yet.

For now, revisit the original viral vid below.
