Downton Abbey fans, it's time to let out an incredibly posh and reserved expression of glee, because your favourite historical TV show is set to become a movie.
There have been gentle mumblings of a film since before the gentle, mumbly show went off the air, and now the Downton Abbey movie is official.
Speaking with the Associated Press, NBCUniversal president Michael Edelstein said the film will officially go into production next year.
"There's a movie in the works. It's been in the works for some time," he said. "We are working on getting the script right and then we've got to figure out how to get the (cast) together. Because as you know, people go on and do other things. But we're hopeful to make a movie sometime next year."
We can't wait to see what kind of promotional Downton Abbey soda cups and popcorn buckets they unveil at the various Cineplex locations.
