Published Mar 24, 2016BJ the Chicago Kid recently dropped his major label debut In My Mind, and now the R&B singer has unveiled some fresh visuals to go along with the latest single "The New Cupid."
The track features some help from Kendrick Lamar, who also appears in the video. He's not the only high-profile cameo in the clip, though, as comedian Hannibal Buress plays the song's titular character.
Matt Barnes directed the video, and it follows Buress as a dejected and drunk Cupid, deceptively scheming to try and split up relationships.
"BJ was telling how the video was missing one piece," Buress told Rolling Stone. "It was me. I came into the picture and made this project whole. The cherry on top. The final stroke of the paintbrush on a masterpiece. A lot of people have been asking about my compensation for this project. BJ paid me in a lifetime subscription to Tidal and three ghostwritten 13-bar verses about any subject matter of my choosing. Stay blessed."
