A week on from sharing that some beloved animated originals will become feature films, Adult Swim has now announced plans for a series of spinoffs featuring characters from Rick and MortyAqua Teen Hunger ForceRobot Chicken and Your Pretty Face Is Going to Hell.

The spinoff for Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon's Rick and Morty is titled The Vindicators and will centre on the dysfunctional superhero team of Supernova, Million Ants, Crocubot, Alan Rails, Vance Maximus and Noob Noob that appeared in the show's third season.

Executive producers Erica Rosbe and Sarah Carbiener, who will work on the series alongside Harmon and Roiland, shared in a statement [via The Hollywood Reporter] that the spinoff will "explore what happens in the aftermath of the Vindicators saving (or destroying) worlds."

Not unlike how Aqua Teen Hunger Force's final seasons received alternative titles, that series' spinoff is titled Aquadonk Side Pieces. It will explore "what happens in the later lives of various side characters and villains such as the Mooninites, the Plutonians, MC Pee Pants, the Frat Aliens, Happy Time Harry, Handbanana and the Cybernetic Ghost of Christmas Past."

Robot Chicken's spinoff, Alabama Jackson, will be a stop-motion series focused on the titular time-travelling character created by actor Donald Faison. Your Pretty Face Is Going to Hell: The Animated Series, meanwhile, will pick up where the first four seasons of the live-action series left off.

All four short series will premiere in the programming block's 2021-2022 season. Rick and Morty's fifth season will begin airing on Adult Swim on June 20.
