Comedy troupe and Saturday Night Live alumni the Lonely Island revealed that they were working on a new comedy film with Judd Apatow last year. Today, more details have emerged as they've officially started production on the project.

A press release lists the film's working title as Top Secret Untitled Lonely Island Movie, though we wouldn't put it past these guys if that was the final title that hit theatres as well. The write-up also confirms that the film will be "set in the world of music."

Of the film, Lonely Island members Andy Samberg, Akiva Schaffer and Jorma Taccone released a joint statement, saying, "Not to be hyperbolic, but we are seriously zazzed about this movie."

Producer Judd Apatow added, "I have begged these fine gentlemen to allow me to produce one of their films since day one and finally they decided my whining needed to come to an end."

There will surely be a ton of cameos in the film, though the additional cast members have yet to be confirmed. We do know that it will feature director of photography Brandon Trost (This Is the End), editors Jamie Gross (Role Models), Stacey Schroeder (Grudge Match) and Zene Baker (Neighbors), production designer Jon Billington (The Interview) and costume designer Sophie Rakoff (Legally Blonde).

Alonside Apatow, all three members of the Lonely Island will serve as producers, as will Rodney Rothman (Forgetting Sarah Marshall). Morgan Sackett (Parks & Recreation) will executive produce.

Top Secret Untitled Lonely Island Movie will be co-directed by the Lonely Island's Schaffer and Taccone.

Stay tuned for more information on the film as it becomes available.
