Published Dec 09, 2015With Christmas presents needing to be delivered around the world, it's no doubt a stressful time of year for members of the actual postal service. Lest they get super depressed, the last thing they should do is listen to Ben Gibbard and Jimmy Tamborello's electronic pop act the Postal Service. Fortunately, a more festive spin on the duo's iconic record Give Up has now been made available.
The parody is called Gift Up and comes from Los Angeles comedy troupe Local Business Comedy. They've reimagined Gibbard's mope pop tracks so that they're all about holiday festivities. As the group's Joey Clift puts it, "we re-recorded every song to be about Christmas instead of morose heartache."
You'll find familiar comfort in songs like "The North Pole Sleeps Alone" and "We Will Munch Gingerbreads," and you'll have vacation on the mind with "Such Great Flights" and "Clark Griswold." Ms. Claus even stops by for some guest vocals on "Children's Letters," but it's not all fun and games — "This Workshop Is a Prison" will have you thinking about the dark side of Christmas commercialism.

In 2014, Local Business Comedy did a similarly festive reimagining of Kanye West's Yeezus. You can stream Kreezus here.
