Legendary comedian and SNL alum Chris Farley passed away in 1997 at the age of 33. His life and legacy will be explored in a new documentary.

Called I Am Chris Farley, the film was directed by Brent Hodge (A Brony Tale) and Derik Murray (I Am Evel Knievel). It features interviews with Farley's friends and family, including his four siblings as well as Christina Applegate, Dan Aykroyd, Mike Myers, Adam Sandler, Molly Shannon and David Spade, among others.

The film was recently acquired by Virgil Films. In a statement, the company's CEO and president Joe Amodei said it "reveals the real man behind the comic genius - and poignantly reminds us of the great work that went left undone."

In addition to a theatrical run, I Am Chris Farley will air on August 10 on Spike TV. It will be available shortly after on video-on-demand.
